local shops, a bid to revitalize Valencia faces

Meeting with the Guild of Shopkeepers

In Valencia we want to make personal commitment a paradigm shift in social and economic relations in the city. One of the most interesting proposals to change the model is to make a bid to restore vitality to the neighborhoods. We can be achieved by stimulating and strengthening local shops, which impacts positively on the prosperity, vitality and environ-mental health of the neighborhoods and the city.

Our manifesto includes proposals to promote openness and development of local shops, to make the administration cooperate and assist in the processing of licenses, to approve ordinances that encourage the establishment of shops and craft workshops.

yesterday met with l'Association Union of Shopkeepers and Directive Central Market, so we could exchange views on the difficulties of small businesses, Know your point of view and present our ideas. We note the coincidence between our proposed i the merchants: the aim of boosting trade in food products, especially products of biological, also as a way of defending l'Horta de València. The small business generates more employment than large supermarkets, giving life to the city and to all the districts of Valencia.

Another bet is the strategic focus on creating i craft brands, related the aalimentación, based on quality, territorial and cultural specificity, a value that reinforces the uniqueness of our products.

In a world where fuel prices are rising, Compromís sets the objective of promoting local trade i next, as part of the contribu de València to greater sustainability. Comercials superstores generate dependence on the car, a reality that we must overcome. Per

economic reasons, environmental, generation of wealth i vitality in the downtown urban fabric but also peripheral, we think the commitment of local shops is a strategic issue, a major challenge that has a prominent place in our electoral program.
