Creating Sustainable Mobility Group

The original story (which is certainly not have been appointed to A Leg) here: http://www.diariocordoba.com/noticias/noticia.asp?pkid=519892

last night created after the contacts generated soon after the conclusion of the activity " in your place or mine" in the Place de la Madeleine, the Standing Working Group on Sustainable Mobility, formed by various associations, groups and platforms to maintain a permanent source of information and public auditing of public policies on sustainable mobility in our city.

A Leg, of course, joined this group as a sponsoring member. You can see the basic document for proposals on our mini-web: http://sites.google.com/site/asociacionpeatonalapata/.

The accident occurred at around number 32 of the avenue, when the woman crossed the road at a place where there was no pedestrian crossing. It so happens that the vehicle that was hit by a local policeman, in particular a scooter borough police. The two involved in the accident are serious, but there are fears more the life of the elderly.

According to the DGT, with updated this week provided to groups of pedestrians in Spain, the highest risk groups suffer when abuses on our streets are under 14 and those over 65, and within the latter, the age range between 74 and 85.

Without going into the wrong action of the woman, in a place where there are several adjacent crosswalks, yes we want to remember that the proposal of the head of mobility when it undertook the reform of this road two years ago was that one-way out also that according to the General Plan should include cycle route that underpin the neighborhood. The protests of the "neighbors" and "traders" (in quotes because of course not all residents or all merchants saw their interests represented in these protests made this way will remain as is, which is mixed with heavy pedestrian flow an intense flow of vehicles, especially on weekends and hours of work output. Some people, in the light of accidents such as these, should review their priorities: they prefer that customers can reach us by car to the door the establishment rather than pacify the area and provide security to the streets. Of course, politicians should take note of the implications their decisions. If this woman dies, I hope you weigh on the conscience to anyone.

DGT implement a pilot road safety Córdoba (Córdoba Journal - 19/10/2009)

already told us the head of Hall mobility, Antonio Valdenebro. Cordoba has been chosen by the DGT to implement a pilot road safety plan. Of the 10 cities chosen, Córdoba is that has the largest number of inhabitants. Why do we need a road safety plan? Well, partly because 94 pedestrians have been run in 2008 in our city, a figure that is below even the 117 in 2007 and well below the figures of other cities, it is still very high. Should be the work of all this number tended to zero in the coming years. This is important to realize that the speed and density of vehicles are the main elements of danger on our streets. can watch the news on the following link: http://www.diariocordoba.com/noticias/noticia.asp?pkid=515956

The press release was also quoted in the paper edition Journal of Cordoba Day edition of Friday October 16, 2009.

The full text of the press release was sent to all media is the following:

"The Pedestrian Association Cordoba A Pata appreciates the philosophy of parking plan that is designed Vimcorsa as presents solutions to problems directly affecting passers as illegal parking on sidewalks, and pedestrian areas, and affects mobility model more favorable to the journeys that are made by foot, bicycle or public transport.

A Leg, by reference to the 500 km. linear Curb occupied, according to the plan, surface parking, quantified in more 1 million square meters in space for the parking of vehicles Córdoba , which according to his spokesman, John Smith, " a problem of abuse and misuse of public space, which is charged at a high price for residential or commercial use, but offered to drivers at no cost, except in the limited areas blue. This public space will detract from other functions of the street, including those dedicated to the ranch, encounters, walking, or transportation by bicycle or bus . " Therefore, A Leg, proposing to establish throughout the city, as has been done in other places such as Barcelona, \u200b\u200bthe proposed plan provided "zone green street or parking fee at affordable prices for neighbors, but penalizes movement which could be replaced by another made by sustainable means of transport. " We are at a moment when we realized that there to quantify the problems caused by the car. The occupation of public space is one of the main. The problem of parking in Cordoba is not missing seats, but too many cars, and we also think that the possession of these is associated with free space available to let in the street, which in the present circumstances of vehicle density becomes impossible. "

As to the position taken by traders, A Pata understands that the demands do not represent the bulk of traders in Córdoba, as "the highest percentage local trade draws neighbors' environment, which they want are not parking in rotation, but all persons, regardless of having a car, access to their shops, wider sidewalks, quiet to be able to travel and go window, or better accessibility for elderly or disabled, demands that are totally opposed to the model proposed by the traders in this case, based on access to its businesses in the private car. Clearly they are confusing weaknesses, strengths, threats and oportunides with shopping malls on the periphery, and we believe this is a mistake . A Pata states, yet its full support to the local trade model of closeness , which is helping to build more livable and cohesive neighborhoods, compared to the model of peripheral shopping centers that do nothing but increase the presence of vehicles in our city, largely responsible for the deterioration of the urban environment suffered by the city in recent years. September 21 Semaphore Prize was awarded Boredom, which this year went to the Avenue located at Our Lady of Sorrows, of Valdeolleros, at the confluence of the Rivers Don Lope. The light, despite having pushbutton, inevitably takes 1:10 to get in green, so the large crowd of students who pass through the area due to overcrowding of schools in their proximity just across the red. We propose that the immediate start button is green, always facilitating the movement of pedestrians. This category has been awarded a second prize at the traffic light at the corner of the County Council to Ferdinand and Isabella, which requires about a minute wait to cross a single lane movement, which also leads to absurd circumstances illegal for pedestrians to skip it. We propose in this case replaced by a zebra crossing, considering it completely unnecessary and uncomfortable for pedestrians.

Tonsils Have Mini Holes?

Semaphore 2009

Cordobesa A Pedestrian Association has failed in its Pata Awards last meeting Semaphore 2009.

These awards are granted on a proposal from Cordoba to lights that encourage pedestrian mobility unless, either by having to be an athlete to pass time in green, or by making unbearable wait times for people who want to cross . The aim is to reflect the public on the figure of light, usually aimed at maximizing the flow and speed of vehicles, and how these would not be necessary in most cases if the conditions of density and speed of the vehicles were appropriate for making cities more livable, and can be replaced by steps pedestrians, or simply setting a switch to green that happen immediately after being called by the pedestrian, as is already happening in parts of Europe. This will favor the reduction of time in the pedestrian routes and increase the number of journeys made on foot, to increase the comfort of these, in turn strengthening the figure of the pedestrian as a true element of scale in the design of cities .

The winners this year were:

Athlete Award for Traffic Light (purple on the map) to the traffic light located at Vallellano Avenue, next to the police station. This light is converted into a torture for older people or some sort of difficulty in mobility, since its time step in such cases is insufficient. We propose to install a pedestrian refuge in the middle or increasing the time the green light. Boredom Semaphore

The light, despite having the push button, it takes a minimum of 1:10 to get in green, so the large crowd of students who pass through the area due to overcrowding of schools in their proximity just across the red. This category has been awarded a second prize at the traffic light at the corner of the County Council to Ferdinand and Isabella, which requires about a minute wait to cross a single lane, which also leads to absurd circumstances illegal for pedestrians to skip it. We propose in this case replaced by a zebra crossing, considering it completely unnecessary and uncomfortable for pedestrians.

Córdoba Journal talks about public transport

This morning, Diario Córdoba has dedicated the headline to the new bus lanes in the city:

The new lanes for public transport, create situations of risk

The news has a significant bias anti-public transport . What really encourages risk situations in this city is the density and speed of private vehicles. Only attacking the root of the problem (the number and speed of cars), which has not been made forcefully in Cordoba, may reduce these risks.

Parliament and signed agreement between FAVT DISMIFÍSICS

To date the FAVT DISMIFÍSICS and the Association have signed an agreement to collaborate on which is attached the main features of the agreement. Photo taken at the time of signing.

PROTOCOL performances FAVT (Federation of Neighbourhood Associations of BALCONY) AND DISMIFÍSICS (Terrassa physically ASSOCIATES)
===================== ================================== INTRODUCTION

Accessibility is the possibility for an individual, with or without mobility problems or sensory perception, to understand a space, integrated into it and communicate with their contents. Also defined as the characteristic of the medium, which allows all people access, use and enjoyment, using a standardized, secure and efficient. Accessibility implies
integral in building accessibility, planning, transport, communication and services. It is a basic right that guarantees non-discrimination on grounds of age, disability or functional characteristics and is a prerequisite for social participation and economic equality of opportunity. For their achievement required legislative developments, technical, economic, market, planning, design, implementation, rehabilitation, training and awareness. PREAMBLE

Terrassa is today a city of 210,000 inhabitants, so far without a comprehensive accessibility plan. It is possibly one of the few cities of over 200,000 inhabitants compliant, adapting to the new work rules without accessible city project, without global intervention efforts throughout the city especially in cities built. It is therefore a city that strives to maintain indefinitely its historical deficit in relation to the policies of accessibility, despite recreating a second pact of mobility in the city and create a special commission to do so, with the participation of the most representative associations of the city.
flows movement in the city's road network are increasingly severe. We are facing an increasingly mobile, diverse and complex: the different means of transportation, and living room, over-use of public streets for the use of private car parking, business operations and distribution of goods. The lack of affirmative action for people of any other circumstance mobility requires joint efforts to resolve the
dysfunction of the different elements that cause and seeking the best possible harmonization of public spaces and free competition. We
disseminate and promote the concept of "Sustainable Mobility" beyond the environment by taking as indicators of urban sustainability for the disabled and children. We propose to establish a new hierarchy in the use of the city where the pedestrian is the star, followed by non-motorized transport and public transport and, ultimately, the private vehicle.
Solving the problems of accessibility and mobility of people we consider key to get to Terrassa considered as accessible and sustainable city with real targets for improvement of quality of life for its citizens. That is why the Federation of Neighborhood Associations and Dismifisics join its influence among the different groups in the city and adopting a framework of objectives that serve to channel the necessary measures to solve the problems created by the growth and diversity of mobility , without compromising the quality of life of citizens, especially those with reduced mobility or disability.
In this sense, the two entities join forces and resources assumed to work together on the basis of the following agreements:

BASIC OBJECTIVES OF THE AGREEMENT

Dismifisics The FAVT and social consensus on the importance of defending a city model that has as its priority the elimination of architectural barriers and the development and adaptation of a Comprehensive Plan for Accessibility, decide to join efforts and resources to work together on the basis of the following agreements:

FIRST: FAVT and Dismifisics
The principle of its agreements recognize that the City should be for all citizens, UNDERSTANDING CITIZEN AS THE POLITICAL DIMENSION OF HUMAN regardless of age or physical condition or psychological and that, therefore, requires removing barriers that limit the accessibility of various social groups especially the weak, disabled persons, elderly and children, in every urban space, public transportation, living space or space of free competition.

SECOND:
Both organizations are committed to promoting standards and participation of disabled persons in any of the participatory and consultative bodies that exist in the city of Terrassa. Assuming reciprocal representation from both entities to third parties on those issues that have to do with the protection of disabled persons

THIRD:
Accessibility Promote a Comprehensive Plan in the city of Terrassa together various local initiatives and partnerships aimed at all residents / citizens to raise awareness of the need to change habits and behaviors that benefit the disabled, dependents and / or reduced mobility. WITHIN THIS IS COMPREHENSIVE PLAN OF ACCESSIBILITY support all kinds of awareness raising activities, conferences, seminars, TALKS, CAMPAIGNS BELOW ABOUT, SO THAT THE
UNIVERSAL ACCESS AND RESPECT COME TO BE TAKEN BY MAKING IT ALL The guiding principle of any human act.

FOURTH:
Promote activities that support the implementation of specific interventions aimed at the development rights of dependents, especially with regard to educational processes and to promote personal autonomy.

FIFTH:
Design and implement awareness campaigns aimed at society in general, aimed at promoting awareness of the problematic situations which people live and disabled dependents in order to break down prejudices and distorted views on themselves. Specific objectives

We want the end result of the implementation of the Accessibility Plan was displayed for 2015, resulting in the city of Terrassa is totally accessible, making it essential to define clearly the results deseables in the ámbitos from different performances, IN SHORT, HE STOPS IN THE TREATMENT OF THE achievement Accessibility for all of which INDICATES FOR THE DISABLED The possibility of A FULL PARTICIPATION IN THE COURSE ORDINARIO of social life.

It is understandable if one takes into account the inefficiency and insecurity of public transport that minicipal administration and private companies to offer. However, it is important to understand that the global trend to discourage private car use. efforts to address the problem of mobility must be united, we can not go to different places. Thus, we may wonder if Cali is taking the right path to solve the mobility problem.

Various Types Of Big Boob

promote public transport and non-motorized

We want to foster in our cities moving means of transport to public transport and non-motorized long-term to reduce energy consumption and minimize funding for urban mobility needs. For this we include: expanding and increasing the attractiveness of public transport to create secure networks and quality for pedestrians and cyclists, promote intermodality through networking between the means of transport.
is an important aspect of Agenda 21 for the Urban Mobility raised by the Vice-President of Europa. In this sense we can see if we all go to the same place, ie, public transport and alternative transport will be more important for the future, which certainly is not as future because what we see today.

Ideas Band Initiation

The future challenges for urban mobility

The development of traffic and transport developments reflect the social, economic and technical in our cities that are influenced by ten mega trends:
1. The population in our cities is growing continuously, both for demographic reasons and because of the continuing rural exodus to the cities.
2. Cities are centers of economic growth and, therefore, also of individual welfare. This leads to a continuous differentiation of lifestyles and the demands of mobility.
3. A growing individualisation of urban society and as a result, a growing number of small households means more traffic.
4. The progressive orientation towards speed by men means a huge demand for mobility services by land and air, by rail and water.
5. The increase in prices for solar and rentals in the centers of urban areas results in a disproportionate increase swim housing rents. This phenomenon makes the lower strata and the middle class of people and families with children abandoned donate centers and permanently increase the flow of mobile workers.
6. Cities are becoming increasingly metropolitan areas where in-creased the distance between residential, work and leisure.
7. Increased flexibility of workers ("modern nomad") as mobility also makes people move from one city to another to get to work and return to your home.
8. New ways of shopping with a car, especially in large shopping centers and the frequency of leisure facilities located on the outskirts of cities, generate new streams of traffic.
9. The growth of electronic commerce, Internet use and other forms of shopping culture via media, such as meal delivery services, leading to a growing traffic concerns the provision individualized.
10. Supplies of goods and services "just when "generate an increment of transporting goods and people in our cities.
As a result of these mega trends, more and more people moving more and faster and faster. It provides more and more goods "just in time" more and more destinations. The explosion causes transport services worldwide increased consumption of resources, growing environmental damage and global warming. The reverse , the structures of political, legal barriers, lack of financial resources and a deficient awareness of the population prevent the necessary changes to bring increased mobility in our cities on a basis which is com-patible with the social, health, safety, ecology and an efficient economy.
According to the above, we can now measure the importance of urban mobility in the world, so that the issues involved in this issue can not be ignored at this point in the history of Cali, where we could be an edge alm important and far-reaching transformation.

Similar Between Essentialism And Perennialism

AGENDA 21

Unquestionably, urban mobility has become a global challenge. The following reflects the dimensions that it includes in terms of social and economic development and its relation to the future humanity is definitely a megantendencia. The agenda is raised by Dr. Wolfgang Schuster, president of the Urban Mobility Commission

One of the core responsibilities of the cities is to build traffic in our cities. To solve this task even better, the organization United Cities and Local Governments (United Cities and Local Governments, UCLG) decided to set up a Committee for Urban Mobility. " By

Agenda for Urban Mobility 21, the committee aims to develop sustainable mobility for our community. With the help of partners we want to implement the tasks and measures to involve them achieve these objectives. Fundamentals

The basis for the work of the Urban Mobility of the awareness that

1. all human beings have the same right to mobility because they are the same base for a concrete realization of most other fundamental rights;

2. the eight Millennium Development Goals United Nations can only be achieved if people have adequate access and payable to mobility services;

3. urban mobility plays a fundamental role in achieving a positive development in the economic, social, ecological and cultural development of a municipality and a town;

4. urban transport systems in many poorer countries do not yet meet the requirements for providing safe, healthy, socially and ecologically compatible men benefits of mobility and, therefore, constitute an obstacle to development;

5. current transport systems, especially the extensive use of private cars in most cities in industrialized countries are not sustainable due to their high consumption of nonrenewable resources and the high level of emissions;

6. There is an increasing problem among the one hand, the mobility needs of urban population is growing strongly and anticipated shortages and rising of fossil energy resources, on the other hand,

7. need to develop new ways with new propellants and carriers of energy for increased mobility in line with social needs, environmental and economic;

8. alternative non-fossil fuels contribute only to find sustainable solutions when not in competition with the objectives aimed at the conservation of tropical forests and ensure regional food production;

9. sustainable patterns of mobility in cities around the world are based on the one hand, the optimized use of all technological, organizational and planning, but, moreover, also depend on a sustainable culture of mobility on the part of those involved in trafficking;

10. city \u200b\u200bcooperation in the framework of the UCLG activities can contribute to a faster dissemination of exemplary solutions, more sustainable and therefore more justice in the "One World."

Kate's Playground O-face

MOBILITY IN CALI: MORE THAN A PROBLEM OF JUSTIFICATION

Mobility, defined as the ability to move efficiently from one place to another is an aspect of great relevance and importance to the various governments demand the creation of policies aimed at facilitating the movement in urban centers, between them and their peripheries.

Mobility is a problem we go through daily. Every day we must move from one place to another, this becomes a difficulty little by little we are accustomed, or perhaps we're used to it. Took to the streets knowing that amid the city's roads are traffic jams, and we will always take longer than projected because vehicles can not pass.

The mobility problem in Cali is usually associated with negative effects generated by the poor condition of roads, the lack thereof for cyclists and motorbikes, the number of vehicles and little room to move. But it is worth thinking whether the above reasons are really the source of the problem or simply the consequences of a larger problem.

People often think and look for what is perceptible only leave aside the other issues that surround us and affect our quality of life, which are not simply situational and lows but we live in the midst of "one world" surrounded by an environment that ignore or do you prefer face reality. That is why we see only the superficial aspects of the problem of mobility in Cali.

Usually people tend to refuse to change and novelty. Easily fall into complacency and we made but we recognize that it is not. People are motivated, they want many things from getting sick, they start to become interested in thinking about the different mobility problem as we have seen so far, and see a solution that meets from root of the problem.

Parallel to population growth, the development of transportation and urbanization worldwide, geographic fragmentation becomes an inevitable consequence. This situation makes access to widely different economies and thus arises the need for both the road network as a means of transportation more efficient.

For Cali, city and center of economic development has traditionally had great difficulty in regard to the processes of mobility. The development of this urban center has resulted in transport problems are accentuated more and that are reflected in the challenge which makes moving from one place to another.

Therefore, we might question the following in relation to the processes of mobility in the city of Cali.

What issues lie mainly mobility problems in Cali?

URBAN MOBILITY AND TRANSPORT SANTIAGO DE CALI

Secretary Municipal Transit and Transportation (STTM) is responsible for registering the vehicles rolling through the city. According to this organization in 2004 through the streets of Cali rolled 357,927 vehicles. As usual in the developing countries, the motorcycle is a very popular means of transport and the city has almost 70 000. As for private cars, more than 240,000 vehicles.

As a public service STTM data are more than 43 000 vehicles counting taxis, buses, vans and buses. According to the DANE roll through the city daily 3 800 collective public service vehicles, distributed as follows: 40.43% minibuses, 25.10% 34.47% vans and buses.

These public transport move a total of approximately 300 million passengers annually, distributed as follows: 40% minibuses, buses 30% and 30% in vans. Crossing STTM data and DANE, must have 10 taxis for every automotive service group. Panoramic

public transport companies are privately held. As in Bogota and other cities, taxis are yellow, the minimum charge is 3200 COP (1.60 USD) daily and 4000 COP (2.00 USD) from 8 pm to 5 am. Local characteristic of urban bus companies are named after colors ("Black and White", "Blue Silver", "Red Grey (Grey Red until 2004)" and "Parrot," among others), other names are "Alameda " and "Coomoepal." Another alternative urban service are the micro-buses with a capacity of between 10 and 20.

MIO, Mass Integrated West.

As in all major urban centers, urban bus service has to do with the so-called "penny war": drivers are paid by number of passengers carried per day, and several companies cover similar paths, this leads speeding and violation of traffic laws. Another common problem is the Colombian city on the supply of public transport especially taxis and buses that clog the main roads at peak hours and has been partially resolved with the application the so-called "pico y placa" a pattern of mobility restrictions in the streets as the last digit of the plate.

Using 10% ethanol in petrol has been reduced in part the problem of environmental pollution. Ethanol is produced in sugar factories from sugar cane.

The government of Alvaro Uribe Velez drove the creation of MIO, a mass transit system based on buses, similar to TransMilenio in Bogota, or the system of Curitiba, Brazil. After multiple delays in the works, this system is expected to come into operation in 2008 and solve many of the problems of traffic congestion in the city.

direct international flights to / from Cali.Cali has one of the major airports in Colombia, the International Airport Alfonso Bonilla Aragón (CLO), located in the town of Palmyra, 15 minutes north of the city. Bonilla Aragon airport connects to Cali Colombia and the world through various domestic and foreign airlines. Among the domestic destinations are major cities with service provided by Aires, AeroRepublica, Avianca-Sam, satin and TAC. Internationally there are routes between Cali and Miami (American Airlines), Houston (Continental Airlines), Caracas and Madrid (Avianca), Panama City (Copa Airlines) and Tulcán (TAME).

The size of the airport runway Bonilla Aragon, 3 000 m long by 45 m wide, allowing the landing of maximum capacity. Annually moves more than 2.2 million passengers and 36 923 tonnes of cargo in nearly 55 000 flights (2006). In the northeast of the city is located AFB Marco Fidel Suarez, belonging to the Colombian Air Force. REFERENCE

Circle urban transport cycle is more complex

We can see a model that explains the circle of the great complexity of transport represents the theme of urban mobility and there are many aspects to consider when the goal or constant challenge administrations of the different cities is to create appropriate policies that are truly eficcientes solutions. It is important that the municipalities, in this case, the Cali meets mobility problems standing firm under pressure from economic sectors because as we see in the graphic mobility in if we refresenta a complex situation.

THIS IS THE IDEA OF PUBLIC TRANSPORT

main objective is the shift more public transport persons per vehicle. The challenge here is to transform the logic of life we \u200b\u200bwant, the tendency is to establish public transport as the primary means to move. Here we have to face to transform the concept of public transport in order to make it more attractive. For this, the efficiency of this fundamental.

PMUS: SUSTAINABLE URBAN MOBILITY PLAN

A Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, PMUS, is a set of actions aimed at implementing more sustainable forms of movement (walking, cycling and public transport) within a city, ie modes Transport to make compatible economic growth, social cohesion social and environmental protection, ensuring in this way, a better quality of life for citizens.
For Getafe (town near Madrid), the main objective of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan is to achieve a new balance in the means of transportation on a basis of sustainability and improving the quality of urban life. For this, the plan analyzes all aspects related to mobility of residents and users of the city and proposes interventions at different levels:

Traffic and accessibility

• The control and routeing
• Improving distribution of goods, including new policies for loading and unloading
• Improving accessibility for disabled
• The incorporation of more sustainable approaches to mobility in the new areas of Getafe
• The implementation of management plans aimed at improving mobility to schools and work
Transportation

• The protection and improvement of public transport as the main component of urban mobility and long distance
• reduction of pollutants and energy savings in the transport field
• Promotion of cycling
Urban Spaces

• The management and management of parking areas
• The recovery of pedestrian spaces and the creation of preferred routes for pedestrians and cyclists
Improves network of parking for residents and a deterrent
Features a PMUS

• Act locally or metropolitan;
• Guarantee accessibility and mobility needs
• cover all modes of transport people and goods;
• They are linked to plans and strategies, regional and national
• They should reduce the negative impacts of transport;
• Addressing the increasing traffic volumes and congestion;
• Changing the modal split in favor of cleaner, more efficient ways;
• Urban planning for accessibility and mobility generated by the different centers and activity areas.
The above points is the PMUS Getafe help us identify whether the basis for what the Mayor proposes to do in Cali on the issue of mobility (MIO, peatonaliación of roads, construction of the Bicentennial) are consistent with this plan can be considered one of the megatrends that are being promoted in the world in terms of mobility.

WORLD BANK REPORT: A NEW ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY "REFLECTIONS

International experts from the World Bank, presented the report describing the local and global economic geography.

History shows that major crises can lead nations to adopt an inward-looking, sometimes with negative consequences. In the World Development Report 2009: A new economic geography, it is argued that the most effective policies to promote long-term growth are those that facilitate the geographical concentration of economic integration within the same country and between countries.
The new World Development Report questions the assumption that economic activities should be widely distributed geographically to benefit the poorest and vulnerable in the world, which can inhibit growth and does little in the fight against poverty. Accelerated and Shared growth requires governments to promote economic integration, which essentially is about the mobility of people, goods and ideas.

"Throughout history, mobility has helped people to escape the tyranny of geography or poor governance," said Gill. The report sees this as part of a vital process of economic integration, since the mobility of people and goods is the cornerstone of an inclusive and sustainable globalization.
The World Development Report reconfigures the policy debates that include all the instruments of integration: common institutions, connective infrastructure and targeted interventions.
By common institutions, the report means regulations affecting the land, labor and trade, and social services as education and health, financed through taxes and transfers.
The concept of infrastructure includes roads, railways, ports, airports and communication systems. Interventions programs include elimination of slums, provision of special tax incentives to businesses and preferential trade access for poor countries.

According to the report, "geography matters greatly in determining what is necessary or unnecessary, and what is doomed to failure. Through a well-calibrated mix of these policies, developing countries can reshape their economic geography, much as it did in the past the current high-income economies. If they do this well, "concludes the report.
is important consider the proposals of the World Bank, as these will be considered by different countries when developing policies of different kinds. According to the report, to facilitate mobility in order to improve economic integration, and even within countries, it becomes a constant challenge. Consider it necessary to learn from the experience of developed cities on the issue of mobility in order to avoid making the same mistakes, and even better, not waste energy alternatives that go against the global megatrends.

This report and related materials are available to the public in http://www.worldbank.org/wdr2009 .

Free Bang Bro Brazlian

In recent months, the mobility has been an issue on which we all want to say, not only because it greatly affects the ability to move from one place to another (very important for us) but because it is associated with other aspects such as road infrastructure, vehicle fleet, among others, directly or indirectly improve or become a stumbling block to improve or maintain a decent quality of life. This issue has gained prominence Cali, maybe because we found the need to recover lost time and backwardness we face in our city in regard to urban mobility with its associated elements (infrastructure, transportation systems, environment, alternative means of transport, etc..). Municipal Administration represented by Cali Mayor Jorge Ivan Ospina has proposed a series of projects aimed at respoder or to solve the problems we face to mobilize, among the proposals is to build new roads, improving others and implemententar efficient transport systems (like mine), pedestrianise roads, build bike paths, etc., according to research proposals that I made is part of the measures developed countries such as Spain is implemented. With regard to the proposal to build new roads, I agreement if one takes into account the time lag in this area face, but consider it important to stop and not fall into error you want to solve problems according to measures maybe wrong. In this respect exhibit a statement to which I find a lot of sense, plus it allows us to reflect on questions regarding what they rightly should do to solve the mobility problems in our city.

How Does Spotting Exactly Look Like

MOBILITY: BEYOND THE TRANSPORTATION

such as mobility and analyze it from different perspectives is necessary if we consider that is an aspect of human life which expresses many of the problems that significantly affect human performance in the city and, consequently, affects the development of the economy that is concentrated there. That is why talk of mobility requires or we demand a level of analysis that goes beyond the merely physical and institutional to sociological and cultural fields, which ultimately can dictate human behavior and their attitude to urban processes, and Overall, how it operates in daily life. Although the following text does not refer deeply to cover these areas, if the comments and does include in its analsis some of the many aspects related to mobility problems.

MOBILITY AND TRANSPORT

means being human transport mobility or one of the most important features of the last two centuries of human history, we can say that we have a number of means of transport that have revolutionized the world and have developed ways to different relationships, through the emotional and reaching the purely commercial.

transport will always be important and emerging issues on it will lead us to see our planet of different sizes, and although the entry of technological elements such as the Internet was thought that people would choose to stay at home, this has not become a true human being, who needs others to live, not just the distance but also to its nearest surroundings.

this as a gateway to our main theme: the mobility through different means of transport and its effects on their environment is actually a large number of related sub-themes, among which are: public and private transport, fuel and alternatives, vehicles, bicycles, employment, new territory, public investment and pollution, among others. Clear in this trial we can not address them all, but my perspective I shall address this aspect becomes increasingly important today. CAR PARADIGM

The main causes of increased surrounding vehicles, not only in Bogotá, but in all our cities and territories, is the continuation of the "American Dream", one which has as objective that each family can have a car, this dream is so rooted in the idiosyncrasies of our ancestors and our present, which is perhaps the most difficult to change, because although public investment and the respective changes to be made are of great magnitude, the field where is more difficult the battle is the mind, because here everything is born before being translated into reality.

For a university student or a middle-ranking employee, buying a car is the relationship with other concepts that are often personal stimuli: independence and autonomy, effort, hard work, intelligence, and many familiar example is related to the conquest of a beautiful young lady, and in the case of a woman can result in the demonstration of women's freedom, so from this first design is very interesting work needs to be done.
This paradigm of independence and self-improvement is an idea that does not look objectively at the additional impact to have a car.

For this, efforts must be vast in all areas of society: schools, universities, parents associations, businesses and roads through rich media, always using the creativity in each , finally exhausting all resources, this to promote public awareness about how we are hurting the increase in cars and what are its devastating things to come, just ask the various modes of transportation that exist in some developed countries, which tend to a better living environment, where there are people from all walks of economically taking the bike to different routes, regardless of whether the office or the home of his best friend.

ALTERNATIVE FUEL CONTAMINATION vs

There is no environmental issue more urgent than that caused by pollution, the ozone layer is increasingly detrimental and a visible result is the greenhouse effect on this element important discussions have been opened locally, nationally and internationally.

Apart from the deficient organization of the waste, industrialization, the vulnerability to natural resources, is attached as an element of pollution generated by burning of cars, this is a time bomb that has caused conflicts irreversible as the Iraq war, which has also been argued by the eager exploitation Unidense State Oil and its derivatives, however, continue in them.

are currently developing fuel alternatives, but so far none has been massively in action, and although it sounds like the same, it should encourage the development of new elements that provide the same guarantees for vehicles, this should be working together with research laboratories, universities and governments closer, there is no other solution that comes out of nothing, since the solution to the problems of society must come from very basis of it: human beings.

biodiesel, natural gas, ethanol, are among the first proposals on fuel, since the level of gas emissions of existing vehicles passing through the streets of our country have overloaded our vital oxygen, which is not like before we thought that our beautiful forests were the most free from this phenomenon of society, we must again return to other options that promote real environmental change, and of course remember that TV commercial for the WWF, where we showed so clearly the lighters polluting our planet. PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Public transport is the most frequented by the grassroots, not because it is more pleasant and cleaner, but because he plays, which is why we give back to the connotation of having your own car, as this is relative to the upper echelons of society, not the poor.

Otherwise we could do a poll on how long each Cali mounted in the bus, and perhaps find the truth, many do not even know more than two bus routes, much less have passed through the center of the city before of diversion by the amendments to the MIO, and now less.

is also true that riding a bus is a task to be on guard, because issues such as vandalism and discomfort, have this means a pejorative way of mobilization, so public awareness is the first aspect to focus. The second is to establish better conditions, decent conditions to integrate the community about this problem and also provide elements of competitiveness. BICYCLE

This transport is fairly ancient origin, but remains relevant in our generation, and how they will survive for much longer, because not only does not pollute, but also is low in cost, each person faces to challenge your fitness, and helps to reduce the space occupied by other modes of transport.

front of the above it is clear that the bicycle is a powerful reducer of the transportation problem, but do not yet possess the minimum requirements to become legally a better system, because there are flaws in the bike paths, traffic rules that prioritize the bicycle on the car, safety and others as parking. This will be part of the experience of citizens, in which a person can face the theft of the medium up to 3 times in two months, with the vehicle safer.

So if we agree with the widespread use, but first they must provide conditions that ensure the physical integrity of each cycle-errant.

Ultimately the use of private cars must undergo a financial penalty, as this is the most vulnerable side of those owners, and it may seem unfair, this is a contribution to help the economic and social balance, because if the vehicle itself is more expensive to travel with my family on vacation and I have to use inter-or medium transport need, using public transport demand, which also must be built to meet these needs effectively. TRANSPORT LOGISTICS

While transportation is one of the most costly elements of logistics is also vitally important as it enables all reaches its destination, then if everyone's responsibility.

regard only proposed road corridors connecting the download sites, with locations, can be seen as a good airway management, but all stakeholders (exporters, importers, all those involved in the supply chain) in this work should work for the changes are really going in the growth of this work is increasingly demanding.

is perhaps a clever opportunity for those monies that were to invest in expansion of routes for trucks in the city, are invested in port infrastructure, airport and movement of goods within the national roads connecting with abroad. CONVEYORS

As owners of the buses that use to argue from this medium, they should raise other forms of work, because like, we do with so many buses, increasing pollution and fatal victims of this poor planning.

This is a task for everyone, not just with his hand in his pocket, but also with hands on their hearts or how many more must die for the destruction of their lungs, as posed by the texts is a high cost which is do not assume a real faces to the owners of public transport companies.
